It made sense for them to bring out Facebook Connect as most non-techy's have a facebook account than anything else. OpenID was there before, but not sure how that will compete... The point of these things is to reduce the amount of logins we use, I wish they could all just get together so we don't all have to have a facebook, Google and OpenID account! Facebook is really taking over, people are starting to spend more time on it than Google!
